Guided Hunts

All-Inclusive Packages

Each of our guided hunts includes on-site lodging, meals, an experienced guide, New Mexico hunt license, and on-site transportation for the duration of your hunt.

Hunters will be housed in the Whittington Center housing facilities. Kitchenettes, snacks, towels and bedding are provided to hunters.  Your day will begin and end with homemade meals in our cafeteria.  Sack lunches will be provided to take into the field.

 

Hunt Success Rates Are Nearly 100 Percent

In the week/s prior to your arrival, our guides are out scouting to ensure the best chance for a trophy animal. These one-on-one, all-inclusive hunts allow you to experience a hunt of a lifetime. Please review our Hunting FAQs for additional details.

 

GUIDED BULL ELK HUNTS

$9,500 (includes NM License)

Plus $750 Non-refundable Service Fee

Season: October 1st through December 31st

Duration of Hunt: Up to 5 days

Hunt Dates: You must complete and return a Draw Hunt Application to be eligible for this hunt.  This application details hunt dates and hunt draw rules.  Submit your application today!

 

About Bull Elk

 

BULL ELK

Northern New Mexico is noted for outstanding trophy Rocky Mountain Elk.  The Whittington Center closely monitors the local herds that venture on and off the property, throughout the year. Bull Elk exceeding 330 Boone and Crockett points are harvested annually off the Whittington Center's 52 square miles.   These one-on-one hunts allow hunters to get up close to these extraordinary creatures.  The Whittington Center also offers guided cow elk hunts as well in the later winter months.

About Pronghorn

 

PRONGHORN

Also known as Antelope, the Whittington Center property is abundant with these speedy herbivores.  Whittington Center Pronghorn guided hunts offer the opportunity for hunters to harvest a trophy pronghorn.  These two-on-one guided hunts take place on leased ranches near the Whittington Center as well as on the Whittington's 52 square miles.  Pronghorn guides use a spot-stalk hunt approach for these hunts.


 

GUIDED MULE DEER HUNTS

$4,500 (includes NM License)

MULE DEER

While visitors tour the Whittington Center they are sure to spot one or two Mule Deer roaming the grounds.  Mule Deer Bucks scoring 180+ Boone and Crockett points have been harvested off the Whittington Center.  These one on one hunts are known to produce quality trophy bucks.


 

GUIDED SPRING TURKEY HUNTS

$1,500 (includes NM License)

Plus $150 Non-refundable Service Fee

Season: April 15 - May 10

Spring Turkey

During the Spring the Whittington Center backcountry comes alive with the sounds of hen clucks and Tom gobbles. Merriam turkeys can be found nearly everywhere on the Whittington Center. Practical Pistol Course Requirements

PPI Course Requirements

What you will need (packing list is for each individual course):

  • Sidearm (semi-automatic or revolver)
  • 3 magazines/speed loader minimum
  • 500 rounds ammunition (NOTE: No Handloaded Ammunition Accepted in the Course)
  • Holster (Open or Concealed) (NOTE: No pocket holsters)
  • Sturdy Belt
  • Hearing Protection
  • Eye Protection
  • Sunscreen
  • 100 oz Water per day

PPII Course Requirements

Same requirements as PPI (see above). Plus:

  • Knee Pads
  • Elbow Pads

PPIII Course Requirements

Same requirements as PPI and PPII (see above). Plus:

  • Flashlight (Mounted or Unmounted – or both)

Practical Carbine Course Requirements

PCI Course Requirements

Required Equipment:

  • Rifle chambered in appropriate cartridge/caliber
 (NOTE: 7.62x51mm and 7.62x39mm not accepted in the course at this time)
  • Rifle Optic Preferred
  • 600 Rounds of ammunition (NOTE: No Handloads Accepted)
  • Sling (2 point recommended)
  • Load Bearing Equipment or Magazine Pouch
  • Minimum 3 Magazines
  • Rifle Cleaning Kit
  • Camelbak or water container
  • Bug Spray
  • Sunblock
  • Knee Pads
  • Elbow Pads

Course participants may also purchase an ammunition package with the appropriate round count.

  • Sling (2 point recommended)
  • Cleaning Kit
  • Camelbak or water container
  • Bug Spray
  • Sunblock
  • Knee Pads
  • Elbow Pads
  • Flashlight or mounted light

Course participants may also purchase an ammunition package with the appropriate round count.

  • Pack NOTE: Used as a primary shooting rest NOTE: Bipods are also allowed as secondary rest
  • Hearing Protection/Eye Protection
  • Shooting Mat or equivalent
  • 200 Rounds of ammunition More is encouraged Handloads are acceptable
  • Rifle Optic 10X minimum NOTE: 100MOA/29Mil Elevation Travel preferred
  • Rifle Cleaning Kit
  • Pack or Rucksack
  • Water Drinking Container
  • Waterproofing Material NOTE: Poncho or tarp NOTE: Garbage bags
  • Bug Spray
  • Sun block
