Shotgun Center; Trap Ranges
The New Mexico State ATA Trap Shoot is the annual state championship event hosted by the New Mexico State Trapshooting Association (NMSTA), sanctioned by the Amateur Trapshooting Association (ATA) and held at the NRA Whittington Center’s shotgun ranges in Raton, New Mexico. This multi‑day tournament brings together trap shooters from across New Mexico and beyond for highly competitive registered ATA trapshooting, including singles, handicap, and doubles events. Competitors vie for state titles, trophies, purses, and All‑American points in a welcoming atmosphere that celebrates sportsmanship, precision, and community in the sport of trapshooting.

When it comes to the excitement of big-game hunting, you get it here at the NRA Whittington Center. Hunt success rates are nearly 100 percent!
Come stay with us! The general public is welcome to stay at the Whittington Center. There is a broad range of housing to accommodate individuals, couples, and small to large groups.
Shooters can take part in competitive shooting, rifle and pistol silhouette, bullseye disciplines, and even black powder muzzle-loading rifles.
