This range is not open to the general public except under special circumstances. Maximum shooting distance is 300 yards.

Every guest must read and sign the online Waiver before they are allowed into the center.

Important Details

Range Rules

  1. ALWAYS Keep the Gun Pointed in a Safe Direction.
  2. ALWAYS Keep Your Finger Off the Trigger Until Ready to Shoot.
  3. ALWAYS Keep Your Gun Unloaded Until Ready to Use.
  4. BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET and What Is BEYOND.
  5. RED RANGE FLAG
    1. Red Range Flag MUST be Flown at Each Range Prior to Commencement of ANY Shooting on That Range or Before Going Down Range to Set up Targets!
  6. READ & OBEY ALL Range Signs Posted on EACH Range.
  7. EYE & EAR Protection MUST be Worn by ALL Shooters.
  8. NEVER Handle Firearms While Someone Is Down Range!
  9. NEVER go Down Range While People are Shooting.
  10. COMMUNICATE With ALL Others On the Range.
  11. NEVER Go Behind A Closed Gate or Fence.
  12. 18 YEARS and YOUNGER MUST Have Adult Supervision.
  13. ALL FIREARMS MUST REMAIN UNLOADED with Actions Open Except when on the Firing Line. A Handgun may be Carried on one’s Person ONLY in a Holster Designed for the Safe and Secure Retention of that Handgun. No Handgun Will be Removed from that Holster Except on a Firing Line, in Accordance with Range Rules. All Handgun Will be Carried in Accordance with State Rules.
  14. PLEASE Help us Keep the Ranges Clean by Disposing of Trash.
  15. ALL SHOOTING Must Be Done From The Designated Firing Lines.
  16. NO ALCOHOLIC Beverages ALLOWED on the Ranges.
  17. SHOOTING TIME Is From Official SUNRISE to Official SUNSET New Mexico Time. This Can Be Googled on ANY Smartphone or Android device. Or you can click here.
  18. WILDLIFE is Common To See On The Range. PLEASE DO NOT SHOOT while Wildlife Is on The Range.
  19. DO NOT CROSS FIRE Only Shoot Targets Directly in Front of You.
  20. NO TARGETS may be removed from any range.
  21. FULL AUTO *CLASS 3* firearms & Paperwork MUST be Checked By Whittington Center Staff Before You Are Allowed To Shoot.
  22. SHOOTING Will Take Place on Designated Ranges/Firing Lines Only.
  23. PROHIBITED is Explosives Including but Not Limited to Tannerite or Other Explosive Types and Targets.
  24. Maximum Speed Limit is 35 m.p.h. on Main Roads; 10 m.p.h. through Developed Areas such as Ranges, Campgrounds, and Housing.
  25. ALL PETS Must be on a Leash.
  26. NO Hiking, Biking, or Horseback Riding Behind any Range, or any Closed Gate or Fence.
  27. PROHIBITED AMMUNITION CENTER WIDE Armor Piercing (Green Tip)* Incendiary* Tracer Rounds*

Ranges

Shooters can take part in competitive shooting, rifle and pistol silhouette, bullseye disciplines, and even black powder muzzle-loading rifles.
